BLASTED CANYONS are back with another killer slab of psych burnt vinyl...... entitled 2ND PLACE ....the new six song ep will hit the shelves on april 20th via tiny grooves' fave label, CASTLE FACE.....2nd Place is chock full of the same minimal garage rocking psych that you loved on their self titled debut lp from last year..... only this time, the songs are catchier, more propulsive and will get stuck in yr head all day long...... they've added more woozy synth and learned to do even more tricks with the analog fuzz sound....... i wish blasted canyons had recorded more than six songs for this release, but its brevity is the only thing i dislike about 2nd Place..... they're definitely headed towards a spot on the best of the year list.......
put BLASTED CANYONS in the same camp of bands that are creating quite the nuevo psych garage movement.....cosmonauts, night beats, wooden shjips, cave, the mallard, royal baths, white fence and the oh sees.......
and if you like any of those bands, buy at least one copy of BLASTED CANYONS new ep when it comes out........
