before every review of every decent band used the word GARAGE ROCK as a description, there was a band called THE RESONARS..... they existed outside the media hype machine, breaking up and reforming constantly, releasing most of their output in the early 2000s via GET HIP records, which to me has always been an under-appreciated purveyor of garage and indie rock......i thought THE RESONARS were just one of those lost footnotes in the anals of rock n roll history until i saw that they're playing TROUBLE IN MIND RECORDS' SXSW party at the TRAILER SPACE in AUSTIN next month...... if you weren't enticed enough to attend by the line-up of MIKAL CRONIN, APACHE DROPOUT, WHEELS ON FIRE, NIGHT BEATS, MEAN JEANS, WRONG WORDS and the HEX DISPENSERS....a very exciting appearance by the RESONARS is just enough to send the bill over the top into that "i can't believe i'll ever see a show this awesome again" category.......
i highly suggest you check out THE RESONARS....... their mix of psych pop, garage and indie rock ought to appeal to everyone, but especially anyone who's ever bought a CYNICS record or anything on TROUBLE IN MIND RECORDS or by an ELEPHANT SIX related band.......
