Athens, Georgia always reminds me of the elephant 6 bands...like neutral milk hotel, olivia tremor control and of montreal....but maybe not for long......a new band is in town and they're ready to destroy yer mind and melt yer face with their fiery psych punk maelstrom......VINCAS might take the shambolic psych roots of their hometown to heart, but they certainly don't sound like late beatles loving bands of i've grown accustomed to expect from athens....... this is some of the craziest garage psych you'll hear all year......
VINCAS burst upon the scene awhile ago, but finally released their debut lp, BLOOD BLEEDS, earlier this year. it was a self released pressing of a 100 and it sold out almost immediately.... it's that good...... thankfully DOUCHEMASTER RECORDS has come to the rescue and repressed the VINCAS record, but this time it's still a paltry five hundred copies.......
thus you need to check these guys out now......before their album is outta print again.......... screeching druggy feedback laced psych rock set to full throttle punk....... i might say this alot on tiny grooves, but damned if this isn't a fucking great record.......
recommended highly for those who love the new TY SEGALL BAND lp, NIGHT BEATS, BIRDS OF MAYA or OBNOX........
and one of my fave record shops/labels, PERMANENT RECORDS had nothing but praise for them.......so i'll let them convince you to grab this lp......
