grab it, YES even if you don't know a damn thing about the band.....you won't go wrong, in fact just the opposite will occur..... PURE RIGHTEOUS ROCK N ROLL will soon be emanating from yer speakers.......such is the case with their latest 45 by indiana's VACATION CLUB....entitled DAYDREAM, it's super infectious dose of jangly primitive garage rock goodness !!!!!!!

similar to APACHE DROPOUT, UH BONES, DEMONS CLAWS, MAGIC MILK, BLACK LIPS and/or DEAD GHOSTS.....their warped analog, sixties pop in a blender, fuzzed over sound makes for some catchy melodies you can dance around to, and dance you will even if you're too cool for that kinda thing these days........   DAYDREAM gets you going with all sorts of reverbed harmony pinned to a insistent cavestomp beat.....and the flipside, FOREST BABE is nothing short of a rock n roll ripper......

apparently these indiana kids have been kicking around for a while, tearing up the heartland and keeping the tradition of the VELVETS, THE SEEDS and THE ELEVATORS alive and well, so here's hoping this won't be the last single that we can get own hands on from VACATION CLUB.......!!!!!!

if you haven't seen the OBN IIIs live, yer missing out.....they're one of the best garage punk bands kicking around these days!!!!!  but no worries, cuz they're bringing their live show to YOUR HOUSE!!!!!!!  after two stellar albums for TIC TAC TOTALLY (both must own lps), OBN IIIs with the help of 12XU RECORDS just released LIVE AT WFMU, a blazing set of their muscular rock n roll you can set on yer turntable anytime you feel like pretending to host yer own house show!!!!!!

nobody combines the snarl of the stooges, alice cooper and mc5 with the bouncing punk of johnny thunders, redd kross and the replacements into one snotty in-yer-face set of non stop fist pumping / cave stomping garage punk anthems like you'll find on LIVE AT WFMU.....  

seriously recommended!!!  but act quick, cuz very few copies of this live album were pressed....and we all hate seeing that SOLD OUT sign at shows.......

the dentists - some people are on the pitch they think it's all over now it is (reissue)

TROUBLE IN MIND is just about to release what is THE MUST OWN REISSUE OF THE YEAR, the 1985 lp from england's THE DENTISTS, entitled "SOME PEOPLE ARE ON THE PITCH THEY THINK IT'S ALL OVER NOW IT IS"!!!!!!!!  a lost classic of the jangly garage medway scene of the early 80s, THE DENTIST's debut album is an absolute classic, lost to time no longer......an appropriately killer lp from trouble in mind's 50th release!!!!!!!

drawing on influences like the BYRDS, LOVE, CHOCOLATE WATCH BAND and the ZOMBIES, the DENTISTS seamlessly distill 60s garage, psychedelic pop and 80s post punk into one concentrated dose of jangly, infectious rock n roll...... (arguably creating the brit pop sound.....yes really!!!)  and though a little less rough around the edges than THE MILKSHAKES and THE PRISONERS, THE DENTISTS along with those bands created a template for what has become the modern garage sound, and with it, an endless chain of young bands imitating their every move whether they realize it or not.......

so needless to say if your a fan of garage or psych or rock n roll and not dead, yer gonna need this reissue from THE DENTISTS....... this one's gonna stick to yer turntable like superglue!!!

if you haven't heard of chicago's TWIN PEAKS yet, now is the time to introduce yerself.......and listen to their debut album SUNKEN, which is quickly gonna become the soundtrack to yer summer..........

released last years as a cassette on the ever reliable MANIC STATIC label, AUTUMN TONE RECORDS is finally giving SUNKEN a proper home on vinyl!!!!!!  which is quite exciting since this is the kinda album you need both a copy to cruise around in yer car and to throw on at those late night parties.......  part jangly reverbed indie rock and part hazy garage, all fueled up with the necessary pop hooks and snotty punk energy, TWIN PEAKS have concocted eight killer songs on SUNKEN that will stay stuck in yer head all day long..........

fans of ty segall, uh bones, the smith westerns, the strange boys, plateaus and no age, YOU HAVE FOUND YOUR NEW FAVORITE BAND............  sure not everyone's been to one of their shows yet, but TWIN PEAKS are gonna be chicago's secret weapon no longer..... SUNKEN is gonna win over everyone who hears it.......... fuzz pop doesn't get much more infectious than this!!!!!!!
