after the dissolution of his killer krautrock-damaged psych outfit MMOSS last year all was not lost, cuz DOUG TUTTLE decided to channel his energies into a solo bedroom recording project and now thanks to TROUBLE IN MIND, we can all bring home DOUG TUTTLE'S self titled debut album!!!!!!! and you fuckin' should!!!!!!
west coast hazy psych pop jams meet late 60s british underground warped lysergic vibes....all stretched and twisted into analog mess of melodies and textures that you'll wander around in and get lost..... these songs envelope you, sometimes with the jangly songwriting, other times with their lush krautrock induced ambience, and certainly lots of haunting vocals creeping out of the cosmic layers of guitars that'll mesmerize you til you gotta flip the record over........ and as you wind yer way through DOUG TUTTLE's headphone masterpiece, you definitely hear his jumping off points though for sure this s/t album is a world of his own creation........ (doug admits a huge obsession with neil young and the byrds, though i also definitely hear some LOVE and HOLLIES in these songs...)
you'll both become addicted to DOUG TUTTLE's lp and need those repeat listen to uncode all the secrets waiting for you in the grooves on this album........
so what are you waiting for, YOU NEED TO TAKE THIS TRIP now........
don't settle for less than another killer jam from TROUBLE IN MIND!!!!!
GO AHEAD AND LISTEN TO TWO TRACKS OF THE S/T LP BELOW and grab a copy from TROUBLE IN MIND now !!!!!

mmoss - only children
MMOSS
Most
of the current wave of psych bands wear their influences on their
sleeves (might as well have a jean jacket full of patches of their
favorite bands) and end up sounding like rip offs. But MMOSS somehow
bring a whole new level of sonic alchemy to the game.
They seamlessly
meld the guitar tricks, the acid folk stylings and the druggy haze of
variant strains of psychedelic rock as we historically know it into
something current and mesmerizingly new. By adding elements such as
krautrock's drone, prog instrumentation (yes flute and crazed organ
solos) and garage's forcefulness, Only Children is in a class all it's own.
Mmoss is somewhere out in left field near Cave, Olivia Tremor Control and The Oh Sees, but for sure blazing their own trail in hallucinogenic wilderness. "War Sux" is an expansive motorik psych blaze of glory, space rocking on for a mind melting ten minutes. While other songs like "Another Day" are short and sweet AM gold jangle meets acid casualty woozy garage anthems. Mmoss stretch it out and explore the outer reaches of psych while not forgetting to give us quite a slew of haunting pop psych jams on Only Children.
Few bands can mix West Coast hippie psych (think Love, Spirit and Public Nuisance) with the art damaged forays of the late 60s/early 70s UK avant rock scene (Pink Floyd, Arthur Brown, Hawkwind and Soft Machine) into such a eerie and potent elixir. You're gonna wanna take this trip with Mmoss over and over again 'cause Only Children is the real thing, not some pretend psych rock for the trendy.

MMOSS - ¡
MMOSS are psychedelic adventurers that just happen to play rock n roll........
they've put out one of the most enveloping albums i've heard in quite sometime......MMOSS definitely sucks you deep into their acid fried world with ¡, their debut lp..... much like OLIVIA TREMOR CONTROL, or perhaps THE PEOPLES TEMPLE........
these new hampshire kids should've played woodstock...or hung out in san fran in the late 60s......or at least been with the ELEPHANT 6 circle when it started out........
and unlike many of the indie kids, they don't shy away from heading into hippie rock territory......flowers in the hair, flutes......SOFT MACHINE, HAWKWIND, SPIRIT, PINK FLOYD records spinning by the light of lava lamps......
all i can say is that i can't stop listening to MMOSS, and maybe you'll feel the same way.......
SO LISTEN BELOW........
and click the link to DOWNLOAD ¡ FOR FREE (you have to name the price as zero).......
but if you like it, buy it from burger records on lp or tape..........
